A special thanks to our Fuels Management Branch at Tyndall AFB for making the Gulf Coast Salute 2011 airshow a thriving success. More than 105,000 people attended this year's Open House; making this one of the largest events ever hosted on Tyndall AFB. Several spectators approached our fuels management team to thank them and to comment on how professional and courteous our employees were throughout the weekend. Our Fuels Technicians issued 56,262 gallons JP-8, 1,268 gallons D-2, and 2,610 gallons GUR.
In addition, we are very proud of the hard work and outstanding fuels support that our Tyndall Fuels Management Branch exhibited in helping to make the Emerald Warrior Exercise a sterling success. Emerald Warrior Exercise was scheduled from 26 Feb through 11 Mar 2011 and was designed to evaluate our tanker, bare-base, and unilateral support capabilities. Over the fourteen day event, our Fuels Technicians issued 1,322,491 gallons JP-8 to participating US Air Force, Reserves, Guard, and foreign country aircraft which included; AV-8B, F-15, F-18, F-22A, QF-4E, MU-2K, KC-10, and KC-135R.
